Agree With GOD’s Appointment of Biden/Harris

The U.S. has a new President and Vice President. And while so much voter/election fraud surrounded the 2020 election, the fact remains that there was an appointment, which God ultimately made; do you agree… with God?

As a result of yesterday’s Inauguration of Joe Biden, I was contacted by many people via phone, text message, and social media for my take on what they (and I) believe was a stolen election. Needless to say, I expected such an influx of such inquiries.
.
So, tongue-in-cheek, I wrote a brief statement congratulating our newly appointed President and Vice President. It seemed as if that feed were popcorn I’d probably have enough to eat while I binge-watched every James Bond movie ever made.
.
The conversations are still going on. Some of them I had to delete because some people were getting a little crazy. But here is one overarching and somewhat troubling thing I heard many Christians say…

God doesn’t have anything to do with Biden and Harris being in office. The election was stolen. Wicked man put them in office. Their policies are evil. And I will not honor demons.”

That quote is an amalgamation of what several people essentially said to me, as well as what I’ve seen others’ post on their own walls. And it is that unbiblical idea that I want to respond to with a few simple yet poignant facts straight from Scripture.
.
Saints, the sooner we begin to agree with God’s word about everything in life, the better we will be able to weather the winds of change and all of life’s inevitable storms. While it is clear that God will never require His children to agree with sin, it is also clear that, as Proverbs 16:4 says…

The LORD has made everything for its own purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil”.

Even Satan is God’s Devil who can only do what God allows him to do. But please, don’t dispute this fact with me; agree with God. You’ll only need to look at the first few chapters of the book of Job to see this amazing truth in action.
.
What started this whole Inauguration Day conversation on my wall was the simple and absolutely true verse I shared, Psalm 75:6-7, which says…

For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. It is God who judges: He brings one down, He exalts another.”

And as much as I should have been surprised, I was not, that several Christians, even after reading that, proceeded to dispute it. But that is God’s word. Therefore, we don’t get to say that God has nothing to do with Biden and Harris being appointed. His word clearly says that God brings one down and exalts another. Agree with God.
.
Finally, I just want to offer one other reminder. And believe me, I really could write pages of information on how what I’m about to cover is a continual theme throughout Scripture. For this reminder, we will look at Israel, the nation that 1 Corinthians 10:11 calls an example for our admonition. So please, agree with God. Here goes…
.
In the eighth chapter of the book of 1 Samuel, the people of Israel chose to have a king in order to be like all the other nations. Yet what they were really essentially doing was rejecting God’s rulership over them. Now please pay close attention to this…

Then you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day” (1 Sam. 8:18).

This is where some would try to use the argument that it was not God but the people who chose a king. And though it would seem to be true (if isolated from the context), it is not true. The people didn’t choose the king they wanted, they chose to have a king instead of God. Yet the next chapter (1 Samuel 9) clearly shows that God actually chose whom they would have for a king.
.
Do you see how a simple and proper exegetical approach to the Bible can help us to submit our own rationales to Scripture and cause us to have no choice but to AGREE WITH GOD?
.
From 1025 BC to 721 BC, God gave Israel 43 kings. And only 7 of them—count ‘em, 7—were kings who “did what was right in the sight of God”. The remaining 36 kings for the most part were evil in God’s sight. AND REMEMBER, Israel was THE APPLE OF GOD’S EYE (Deut. 32:10; Lamen. 2:18; Zech. 2:8).
.
And the very first king God gave Israel was one of the 36 wicked kings. His name was Saul. You know, the King Saul who continually tried to kill David because he was jealous of him?
.
Listen to me saints, This past year—really these past four years—has been the most chaotic and unpredictable in most of our lifetimes. And even in the midst of a so-called pandemic and what many including myself believe was a stolen election, God has been nothing but faithful. He has been faithful to Himself and He has been faithful to His people.
.
God put President Trump in office for the last four years. Psalm 75:6-7 says so. And like I continually warned both Trump and Trump-supporters (myself included) that pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall (Prov. 16:18), it is possible that one reason Trump did not get a second term (despite our beliefs that it was stolen from him) is because God still resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble (Jas. 4:6; 1 Pet. 5:5).
.
Like I already said, even the Devil is God’s Devil. The enemy can, by the permission of God, do all sorts of damage, even to the very people of God, just like the book of Job shows us he can. Don’t dispute me on this. Agree with God.
.
But Romans 8:28 was, is and will always be in full affect. What the Devil means for evil, God will use for His glory and ultimately for the good of those who belong to Him.
.
What will Biden and Harris bring America? We already know what they PLAN to bring. But even that is ultimately up to God, whether for further judgment on America, or perhaps even for a merciful blessing or two. Only time will tell. But don’t dispute me on this. Agree with God. His word is what says that, “A person’s heart plans his way, but the LORD determines his steps” (Prov. 16:9). They will not do any more than God will allow them to. Yet it won’t change our Romans 8:28 righteous standing one iota, saints.
.
If you are truly in Christ, you’ve done your part. You’ve made your voice heard. You’ve voted accordingly in your effort to stand with God and against the wicked plans of man. And now you see who God has raised up. You don’t know exactly why he put Biden and Harris in office. But you do know that it could be for either judgment or for blessing. Again, only time will tell. But will you agree with God?

Our God is in heaven and does whatever he pleases” (Psa. 115:3).

The LORD does whatever he pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the depths” (Psa. 135:6).

If you do agree with God, then it ultimately won’t matter who is in office. You don’t have to agree with any of their policies. I flatly disagree with their platform. Yet I absolutely and totally agree with God on His, not yours, not mine, but His appointment of them. And for this reason I will pray for their salvation, and pray that they will not proceed with the unbiblical and godless agenda that is their platform.
.
Even though King Saul was wicked, and literally constantly tried to kill David, that man after God’s own heart honored King Saul until the end of his reign, and continually referred to him as God’s anointed. We don’t need to refer to any president as God’s anointed. But we do need to honor and pray for them. Don’t think so? Read 1 Timothy 2:1-4 and 1 Peter 2:17. Please saints, agree with God.
.
God bless, beloved.
