Pentecost Counterfeiters

Pentecost Counterfeiters

The lies of modern pentecostalism concerning miraculous gifts, and signs and wonders continues to shipwreck the faith of many. This post tells why Jannes & Jambres are mentioned in Paul’s 2 Timothy 3 last days warning.

Jannes & Jambres are given in example in the apostle Paul’s 2 Timothy 3 last days warning about false teachers and false disciples. Why? Perhaps because just as they tried to replicate Moses’ miracles, last days deceivers and the deceived would continually try to replicate Pentecost and its immediate early church after-effects.
.
These modern-day powerless sorcerers resist the all-sufficient truth that is the word of God by making Scripture secondary to so-called signs and wonders. And then they do things like hire people to sprinkle glitter into church ventilation systems and calling what the bewitched people see in the sanctuary, a glory cloud of the Spirit. Or they do fake leg lengthenings. Or they make claims of raising the dead, yet never providing medically verified proof. How wicked!
.
“6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was” (2 Tim. 3:6-9).
.

False teachers in many charismatic churches, false apostles in the so-called New Apostolic Reformation, and greedy charlatans among the most influential leaders of the Word of Faith movement run around making bibically illiterate and thus gullible people think that signs and wonders are some sort of higher level of spiritual maturity, when indeed it is the exact opposite. Signs were given for unbelievers to confirm the birth and establishment of the Christ’s Church. Yet, the height of spiritual maturity for the true Christian is to study, understand, believe, and faithfully obey God’s word, RIGHTLY DIVIDED (e.g. 2 Tim. 2:15).
.
Jesus, in John 20:24-29, rebuked Thomas for needing to see the miracle of His resurrected body in order to believe. And Christ instead blessed those (then and even now) who believe without having to see a miracle.
.
But believe what, you ask? I just said it. “Take heed therefore how ye hear”, said Jesus in Luke 8:18, “for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.”
.

True faith comes by HEARING, and hearing by THE WORD OF GOD (Rom. 10:17). The most spiritually mature saints are those who live in fulfillment of Christ’s prayer to the Father answered… “that they should believe on Me through their words (i.e. the apostles),” NOT through falsely standing in their closed office and failing miserably to replicate their miraculous works.
.
And that is why even in his 2 Timothy 3 last days warning of false teachers and false disciples, the apostle Paul ends that portion of Scripture with…
.
“16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
.
Beloved, the word of God is all-sufficient! Not even the apostle Paul, who was a miracle worker, mentions doing miracles, signs and wonders in his departing exhortations to the saints. For that matter, Not even Jesus, in His 7 letters to the Church in Revelation, mentions signs and wonders. The only two churches of the seven He had NO REBUKES for were SMYRNA (the faithful unto death church), and Philadelphia (the kept My word and not denied My name church). And what was Smyrna faithful unto death for but their faith in Christ’s word and His name!
.
Saints, WE DON’T NEED ANOTHER PENTECOST! Saints, THERE WON’T BE ANOTHER PENTECOST! Saints, PENTECOST ESTABLISHED THE CHURCH, the New Testament prophets and apostles, and the doctrine of God. And, as Ephesians 2:20 says, those prophets and apostles are the foundation, CHRIST IS THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE, and we are the house being built upon that unshakable, unmovable, irreplaceable, INIMITABLE foundation.
.
Saints, pray with me that the lost will be saved, and that the saved will grow up. And pray that all the modern-day unrepentant Janneses and Jambreses will fail miserably and publicly in their demonically inspired efforts.

PRAY-FOR-BRAN-DON…

PRAY-FOR-BRAN-DON…

This post addresses the viral term being leveled as a personal attack against President Biden, “Let’s Go Brandon,” and why Christians should have nothing to do with it.

The above images show President Biden and NASCAR Driver Brandon Brown. If you didn’t know where the viral chant “Let’s Go Brandon” comes from, just google Biden and Brandon together, and you’ll find a plethora of articles on it. What I am posting here is specifically for those who claim to be followers of Christ.
.
The apostle Paul in II Corinthians 10:3-6 writes…

“3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.”

In this passage, the apostle is speaking for God to the saints to teach us how we fight, the divinely powered weapons we use, what the real enemy looks like, the enemy’s prime objective (to attack the knowledge of God), and who we are to take the enemy captive and make it bow to (the Master and Commander of our army—Jesus Christ). This is the good fight of faith. I’ll come back to address verse 6 at the end.
.
The salvation of souls, not of America is God’s cause. That is why Ephesians 6:12 tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, and that our offensive weapons are prayer and the sword of the Spirit which is not man’s words… but THE WORD OF GOD (vv. 17-18). And speaking of prayer; if you think you’re obeying God’s command to pray for someone that you know in your heart you’re continually cursing, you are tempting God, and your prayers will be lucky to reach the ceiling.
.
So to all of the Christian “Let’s Go Brandon” supporters who agree that the American people have had enough, just remember, the reason America is where it is today is because “God has had enough of the American people”. Oh I know its uncomfortable to hear. But stand this country next to Romans 1 and you will see that I’m right.
.
And your singing and chanting something that is at its heart a dishonorable expletive constantly hurled at the president of the United States is only inviting more of God’s judgment. Yes, it is absolutely clear that President Biden and his administration are pushing wicked policies. And yet, we act as if America doesn’t deserve worse.
.
But, beloved, it is easy to take a sinful song and make it top the charts in Satan’s realm, especially when those who call themselves Christians produce and promote it. Remember, Satan had the audacity to offer our Lord all of the kingdoms of the world if He’d bow down to Him. Who are we to think that the Devil wouldn’t exalt a person who calls themselves a Christian who is willing to compromise with sin. That is a win for Satan’s kingdom.
.
Have we forgotten that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal? Have we forgotten that we wrestle not against flesh and blood? Have we forgotten our mandate to not only pray for all men, but for kings and for all that are in authority? Have we decided to make the battle ours apart from the Lord? Because there is no way our Lord is telling us to be holy but to also join in with the world to continually verbally insult anyone, especially not those He allows to remain in authority.
.
Saints, many of you are hoping for Trump to return to the Oval Office ASAP. Leave Brandon alone. I gave a warning like this midway through Trump’s presidency and warned that God still resists the proud, and that we would be sorely disappointed if Trump supporters and Trump himself didn’t humble OURSELVES.
.
When the apostle Paul spoke for God to us about what our real fight is, he also said in II Corinthians 10:6 that…

We are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.”

Please know that all disobedience unrepented of will be punished by God. EVEN OURS AS CHRISTIANS.
.
But if we really want to see God move on our behalf against the rapidly increasing wickedness coming from Capital Hill, the sooner we abandon stuff like this worldly war of words, humble ourselves, and pray, the better chance we will have of God having mercy on this clearly wicked nation.
.
Now, I don’t care if I’m the only one who feels this way. I’ll gladly stand alone with God’s word as my support. I urge you to abandon “Let’s Go Brandon” and instead PRAY FOR BRANDON, or at least leave Brandon alone and let God handle him. In fact, how about just calling President Biden by his own name? Or just keep on piling on more reasons for more of God’s judgment. The choice is yours, saints.
.
God bless, beloved.

DEFINING “SAVED” BY ONE’S SELF INSTEAD OF THE SAVIOR

DEFINING “SAVED” BY ONE’S SELF INSTEAD OF THE SAVIOR

DEFINING “SAVED” BY ONE’S SELF INSTEAD OF THE SAVIOR

Just as rapper, Kanye West has done in every realm in which he has operated (music, fashion, business), even now, he is attempting to redefine what salvation in Christ looks like. And sadly, many are following his lead.

FOR THOSE WHO’D RATHER COMPARE “SAVED” AND KANYE TO YOURSELVES THAN TO SCRIPTURE:

One of the most insidious forms of pride is defining the work of God on a person’s life by YOUR personal failures and sinfulness when the only TRUE standard is Christ and His holy word.

Yet, for you who still prefer to use personal experiences of failures and rebelliousness to determine what salvation should look like, okay fine. I’ll use personal experiences to respond to your justifications for the activities of people like Kanye.

Let’s start with Peter’s personal experience of being a professional fisherman. When Jesus saved him, He didn’t say, “Now Peter, you were a fisherman by trade. But now that I’ve saved you, I want you to go and show the world how God now gives you this def skill of being able to haul in so many fish that nets be breakin’ err’where! They gone know you fishin’ fuh God now!”

Or how about Matthew’s experiences? Jesus didn’t say, “Hey Matthew, you were quite skilled at collecting taxes from your people in the service of Rome. Now, let’s go git dat bag fuh da kingdom, fam! We need dat paper to do the work uh da Lord!”

Wait! What about the experiences of the woman caught in adultery? Jesus didn’t say, “Yo! You see how all those Pharisees walked away when I talked about they sins to them? Queen, ain’t nobody judgin’ you up in here. I ain’t mad atchu neithah. Go li-yo-life!”

Or what about the experiences of the Samaritan woman at the well? Jesus didn’t say, “Aight ma, look! Befo’ you git Me some water, lemme say dis. You been thru fye-different husbands, and the man you ridin’ wit now, ain’t even really yo man. But all dat’s irrelevant. I just mentioned it so you could reckonize Who you rappin’ wit; ya feel Me? I ain’t even thirsty no more tho. Go do YOU, ma!”

Okay, just one more…

What about the experiences of Paul? Jesus didn’t say, “Yo Paul, why you trippin, talkin’ bout countin’ stuff dung and what not!? You got mad cred in deez streets, yet you also educated in the finest schools. And on top-a-dat, er’where you go, people put some RESPECK on yo name! Come work fuh Me dawg! I can definitely use dat kinda knowledge and power! Witchu workin fuh Me, niggas gon’ be gittin’ saved leff and right! Balee-dat!”

Folks, listen to me! This is to believers in Christ, but it is also for unbelievers. God is holy. And God will not waiver on one iota of His holy word. Stop letting your personal experiences, and how long it seems to have taken you to stop rebelling against God to define what salvation looks like! God’s word is clear.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17)

Already some of you are looking for loophole arguments for what I’m saying. NO! I’m not talking about sinless perfection. We won’t achieve that down here! I’m talking about shunning sin, having no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, and following the biblical patterns of Christ and the apostles instead of the course of this fallen sinful world. I’m talking about letting God be true though everyone be a liar.

The more Christians ignore the ever-increasing worldliness storming the churches by “entertaining” the idea that God is interested in taking people’s wealth, fame, power, or prestige, and using it to influence His peculiar people, the more the tares are watered, and the less the wheat is. And the more the all-powerful Holy Spirit is mocked and grieved, and the precious blood of Christ is trampled underfoot by people.

And though God’s word prophetically says this wickedness will ultimately happen, causing a great falling away, if YOU are using your personal experiences and failures instead of rightly divided Scripture to define what salvation is, you might just be deceiving your own self about your salvation. And you just may be an apostate yourself.

Saints, we must keep each other accountable to the Scriptures. It is the only truth that makes us free and keeps us conquering sin in our lives to the glory of JESUS CHRIST and not ourselves.

God bless, beloved.

Pentecost 2.0 …21?

Pentecost 2.0 …21?

Pentecost 2.0 …21?

The lies of modern pentecostalism concerning the day of Pentecost, miraculous gifts, and signs and wonders have done major damage to the faith of many. This post addresses the error of churches wanting a new Pentecost.

It appears that we are slowly starting to come out of what some called a Covid “pandemic”. And many of the charismatics who were exposed for their missed prophecies about COVID and about Trump, as well as their complete and utter impotence to perform any mass healings of COVID victims are unfortunately back at it again…
.
On May 23rd this year (aka Pentecost Sunday 2021), many charismatic churches all across America were singing for, praying for, and yes, even preaching about want of a new Pentecost. And of course, not one of those churches’ got a new Pentecost, and they never will get one.
.
Friends, if you need a NEW Pentecost, then you never really KNEW Pentecost.
.
Early this morning, I watched a video of a particular Church service of this sort. Their entire worship segment and prayers were based on the theme of a new Pentecost. Then the preacher got up and preached from Acts 2:1-4, and of course his title was “We Need A New Pentecost”.
.
He never exposited Acts 2:1-4. In fact he immediately went to a different passage in Acts, but spent most of his message shouting “we need a new pentecost”. Please note that he never even touched Acts 2:5-11. Verses 5 through 11 literally explain verses 1 through 4, yet, because of what it says about tongues, many pentecostalists avoid those seven verses like the twelve plagues of Moses.
.
I’ll say it again. If you need a NEW Pentecost, then you never really KNEW Pentecost. I can say on the authority of Scripture that there will never a be new Pentecost. Why? Because the original Pentecost confirmed the gospel and the birth of the Church—the Body of Christ to the Jews first, and then to the Gentiles. And the Church and the gospel were all forever confirmed by the apostles and their doctrine, which completes the canon of the inspired, infallible, inerrant, word of God—the holy Scriptures. Saints, we are in the “once-for-all” faith of Jude 1:3.
.
Reformer, John Calvin said, “Miracles were promised only for a time, in order to give luster to the gospel, while it was new and in a state of obscurity.”
.
A Ligonier Ministries article entitled “Apostolic Signs & Wonders” says that, “miracles confirm that those who claim to be giving divine revelation are actually from God, and once this revelation has been given, miracles are no longer needed. But God continues to intervene supernaturally in His creation, so we pray for the sick and believe the Lord is able to heal them.”
.
The gospel and the Church are no longer obscure or in their infancy stages. The soul-saving word of God is all-sufficient for salvation and godly living. And the now established Church is its pillar and ground. And true faith is not by seeing signs and wonders, but by hearing, believing and obeying the word of God.
.
It is terribly sad today that it rarely even occurs to most in the charismatic movement that God was using a condemning sign of tongues (languages/dialects) of other nations to judge Israel (e.g. Deut. 28:49; Isa. 28:11; Jer. 5:15), while simultaneously blessing the Gentiles with the same salvation that started way back with Jews like faithful Abraham.
.
By the way, Pentecost’s clear revelation of tongues (Acts 2:1-11) also clearly points to a fulfillment of God’s very reason for changing Abram’s name (exalted father) to Abraham (father of many nations). A mature understanding of Pentecost helps us see its purpose in the power and beauty of Abrahamic passages like Romans 4:11-12 which says…

11 And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while still uncircumcised. This was to make him the father of all who believe but are not circumcised, so that righteousness may be credited to them also. 12 And he became the father of the circumcised, who are not only circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith our father Abraham had while he was still uncircumcised”.

and Galatians 3:7-9 which says…

7 You know, then, that those who have faith, these are Abraham’s sons. 8 Now the Scripture saw in advance that God would justify the Gentiles by faith and proclaimed the gospel ahead of time to Abraham, saying, All the nations will be blessed through you. 9 Consequently those who have faith are blessed with Abraham, who had faith”.

and Galatians 3:14 which says…

The purpose was that the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles by Christ Jesus, so that we could receive the promised Spirit through faith”.

Pentecost was the birth of the body of Christ, the Church that would be used of God to make the Abrahamic Covenant a reality. Indeed, when people miss all of those glorious reasons for the apostolic age of miracles, signs, and wonders, it becomes understandable that they would desperately be seeking a new Pentecost, even though seeking such is unbiblical and therefore irrational.
.
One last time, it is worth repeating that if you need a NEW Pentecost, then you never really KNEW Pentecost…
.
Father in heaven, I pray, in the name of Jesus and in the Holy Spirit, that you would open the eyes of many who are being duped by the unbiblical teachings of Pentecostalism and its modern charismatic misrepresentation of tongues and other miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit.
.
Forgive them for muddying the crystal clear waters of the purpose for the apostolic age’s sign gifts. And turn their attention to the complete Revelation of your Holy word, and bless them with a Holy Spirit guided understanding of rightly divided biblical truth, and the spiritual maturity that continuing in such faith produces. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
.
God bless, beloved.

“Called to Be Saints” Will Never Be Ain’t’s

“Called to Be Saints” Will Never Be Ain’t’s

“Called to Be Saints” Will Never Be Ain’t’s

The doctrine of eternal security is a most precious truth of Scripture. Sadly due to poor hermeneutics, it is also most hotly debated by those who believe that someone whom the Lord God saves can lose his/her salvation.

The Book of Romans is the apostle Paul’s letter to the beloved of God, called to be saints (Rom. 1:7). An overly casual and prayerless reading of the Scriptures causes us to miss so much of the beauty and power infused into every jot and tittle of God’s inspired, inerrant, infallible word. Let’s slow it down a bit and look at those four simple words penned by Paul—“called to be saints”—a bit more closely.
.
“Called” as used in Romans 1:7 is the Greek word kletos, which means invited or divinely called to some office or position. It is like what Jesus spoke of in His Parable of the Marriage Feast in Matthew chapter 22, where a man was found in the feast not having on the proper garments, who was therefore cast into outer darkness. After giving the parable, Christ said that “many are called, but few are chosen” (v. 14). It is the word “chosen” that helps explain what a called-to-be-saint is.
.
“Chosen” as used in Matthew 22:14 is the Greek word, eklektos, which means specifically picked out, or as it pertains to God, picked out in order to obtain salvation. It is where we get our English word “eclectic” from. For example, eclectic interior decor is a mixture of selected furniture and pieces that don’t necessarily match, but when brought together create a rich mix of form, function, utility, and focal points.
.
Those who God saves are an eclectic mix out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation (e.g. Rev. 5:9). We are brought together in the body of Christ as a rich mix of form, function, utility, and focal points even beyond the finest eclectic artistry.
.
But did you know that eklektos is also the Greek word used for the word “elect” as in “the elect of God” used in Colossians 3:12? The bible constantly speaks of the elect and the election of God as it pertains to the saints in Christ.
.
Now, “saints” as used in Romans 1:7 is the Greek word hagios, which means most holy thing, sacred (physically pure, morally blameless, consecrated). And please note that it is the same word that is always used in conjunction with the name of the third Person of the Trinity—the Holy (hagios) Spirit.
.
So here is the point. We who are truly saved are “called to be saints”. We are not merely called to try to be saintly. We are called (kletos) by God. We are chosen (eklektos) by God. We are the elect (eklektos) of God. We are declared morally blameless (hagios) by God (e.g. Rom. 8:33; 1 Cor. 6:11; 1 Pet. 2:9). And we are, by grace through faith in Christ, regenerated, permanently indwelt, and sealed until Christ’s day of redemption by the Holy (hagios) Spirit of God (e.g. Eph. 1:13-14; 4:30).
.
This is just one more of many crystal clear biblical descriptions of who the truly saved now and forever are. And this is just one more incontrovertible biblical reason why those who God saves cannot and will not lose salvation. At least 52 times in Scripture true Christians are called “the saints”. Perhaps it would be a good idea to look at those passages and remind ourselves 52 weeks a year that the “called to be saints” will never be ain’t’s!
.
True saints can know we have eternal life as the Spirit of God continually bears witness with our spirits that we are true children of God (Rom. 8:16). So let us continually examine and prove to ourselves and others that we are actually in the faith of Christ (2 Cor. 13:5) realizing also that…

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, bearing this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness” (2 Tim. 2:19).

The doctrine of the eternal security of the born-again believer in Christ is absolutely biblical. And so if you are a true saint, you will never, ever become an ain’t. This is not my opinion. This is rightly divided biblical truth.
.
God bless, beloved.
