The Hebrew sense of Psalm 119:18 which says, “open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of your law” is that of removing a thick veil from over the eyes or taking off a blindfold.
Psalm 119:18 is a verse that I have prayed for years, and will continue to earnestly pray because it works!
David, the man after God’s own heart, was acknowledging that there were “wondrous” things that he was unable to see or understand on his own. And so he turned to God in prayer for the veil to be lifted, the blindfold removed. Surely you don’t think that David just imagined all of those wonderful Psalms he wrote!
